Service Dog Training

Our service dog program is designed for handlers with a documented disability and dogs who are ready for advanced training. We begin service dog training when your dog is between 6–7 months old and has passed their Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test.

Training includes public access skills, task training, and advanced obedience. Sessions are held biweekly at $75/hour and typically span 8 to 12 months.

AKC Testing

Earn Titles, Ribbons, and National Recognition

As an AKC-approved evaluator, I offer official testing for a variety of programs. When your dog passes, you’ll receive an official certificate from the American Kennel Club and an AKC ribbon to recognize their achievement.

Available tests and pricing:

  • S.T.A.R. Puppy – $30

  • Canine Good Citizen (CGC) – $30

  • Community Canine (CGCA) – $35

  • Urban CGC (CGCU) – $35

  • Trick Dog (Novice to Performer) – $20–$35

  • Video Home Manners – $25

To pass these tests, dogs must already know the required behaviors. These skills are taught through our Basic Obedience Program, or you may choose to schedule an individual evaluation if your dog has been trained elsewhere and is ready for testing.

Testing is available by appointment and includes evaluation, feedback, and submission of paperwork to AKC.

Basic obedience

This program builds the foundation every dog needs to be a calm, well-mannered companion. Dogs can begin training as early as 15 weeks old, and sessions are fully customized to fit your goals.

We cover core behaviors such as:

  • Sit, stay, and down

  • Loose leash walking

  • Recall (come when called)

  • Calm greetings and impulse control

  • Focus and polite behavior in public settings

Many of these behaviors are also required for AKC certifications like CGC, S.T.A.R. Puppy, and Trick Dog. This program is ideal for clients who want to build those skills before testing or who simply want a more enjoyable everyday experience with their dog.

Sessions are $55/hour with flexible scheduling options.
