Welcome to Educated Canine
Educated Canine was founded with one clear mission: to build confident, well-mannered dogs and capable, educated handlers through positive, personalized training.

After years of experience in both pet and service dog training, I saw the need for a training program that focuses not only on the dog, but also on empowering the person holding the leash. At Educated Canine, our goal is to create real-world success—at home, in public, and wherever life takes you and your dog

Devyn Newman
My journey into dog training began from a place of healing and purpose. After experiencing the 2018 Stoneman Douglas school shooting, I found connection and strength through working with dogs—especially those trained to support others during difficult times. I quickly realized the powerful impact that well-trained dogs can have, not just on individuals, but on entire communities.

I began my career by assisting in the training of both pet and service dogs, and over the past seven years, I’ve continued to grow my experience and education in the field. I am certified as an AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluator and have completed training through Care Free Dog Training, specializing in obedience, task work, and handler education. I also have a background in animal behavior and animal nutrition, which allows me to take a well-rounded approach to each dog’s physical and emotional needs.

When I moved to Oklahoma, I recognized that this community also needed accessible, compassionate, and professional dog training. So I continued. My mission now is to support individuals and families—whether they need help raising a well-mannered pet or are working toward building a life-changing partnership with a service dog.

My dogs, Bourbon and Hash, are a huge part of my training process. They help demonstrate skills, model calm behavior, and remind me daily of the joy and trust that come from a strong human-canine bond.

This work started as personal healing, and it has grown into a lifelong commitment to helping others through the power of partnership with their dogs.
